Healthcare Council works with the delegation and their staff members both in the region and in Washington, D.C.
One key area of focus for Healthcare Council is the area wage index. Healthcare Council and its members continue to work with the Congressional delegation and the Senators to find a short-term solution to the issue while supporting the long-term solution of adopting changes to how the wage index is calculated.
Healthcare Council and its members, along with others, were successful in placing language in the health reform legislation which requires the Centers for Medicare and Medical Assistance (CMS) to submit a plan to Congress on adopting some of MedPAC’s recommendations. Healthcare Council is committed to “protecting” this language and working with legislators and CMS to adopt a long-term solution.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
