Healthcare Council and Corazon, Inc, are partnering on providing the program Settings of Care-Creating an Outpatient Strategy, on April 28, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The virtual program is offered free of charge to Healthcare Council members.
The development of an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) strategy is a must-have for all hospitals, regardless of where in the decision-making or planning process. During this webinar, Corazon experts will explore considerations for the pursuit of an ambulatory development strategy to protect against competitive threats while understanding the financial, operational, and clinical impact – on both the new ASC and the inpatient hospital department.
Healthcare delivery is rapidly shifting from the inpatient setting to outpatient and ambulatory settings, a change driven by advances in technology and techniques, as well as reimbursement acceptance as defined by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), and pressures from evolving patient expectations. In the short term, reimbursement continues to be much higher for care provided at a hospital compared to an ASC, which creates both a dilemma and an opportunity.
While the downstream margins will be favorable, profitability for an ASC can’t happen overnight. But, as the industry continues to move in this direction, hospitals must be prepared to make this shift, and do so with the least impact on the bottom line.
The expert speakers from Corazon will share their knowledge of what may be up and coming in Pennsylvania relative to the acceptance of coronary procedures in an ASC setting and explore key financial, operational, and clinical considerations in the development of an effective strategy.
The program features expert speakers Amy Newell, RT, and Djamel Bayliche, both vice presidents at Corazon. Amy Newell has more than 20 years of hands-on clinical experience and provides clinical, strategic, and operations consultation to hospitals, physicians, and healthcare networks across the continuum of cardiac care. Djamel Bayliche has comprehensive and multi-faceted career experience working as an expert healthcare operations leader and service line development specialist with vast knowledge of orthopedics.
