Healthcare Council is forming the Supply Chain Professionals Committee. The Committee will continue the work of the former Healthcare Purchasing and Materials Management Association of Western Pennsylvania. The Association closed its chapter and entered into an agreement with Healthcare Council to continue providing a forum for supply chain professionals as a formal Healthcare Council Committee.
The Supply Chain Professionals Committee will meet on a quarterly basis to provide education, information and networking opportunities for supply chain and materials management professionals throughout Healthcare Council’s membership. Members will also have the opportunity to share “best practices” in supply chain management. Committee members will also be invited to participate in Healthcare Council’s education programs, issues briefings and the Fall Conference.
With assistance from Committee members, Healthcare Council will also continue the relationship the Association had as a chapter of the national Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM). By keeping this relationship, members of the Supply Chain Professionals Committee will be able to receive continuing education units from AHRMM. Healthcare Council will also provide AHRMM a one-page annual report each year and members of the Committee will complete a workbook as required by AHRMM, for the Committee to retain a “gold” or “diamond” level status with the national association.
The Committee will hold its first meeting in March 2020.
