HCWP Offers Special Live Webinar: Working in A COVID-19 World: What Are Employers Legally Allowed to Do
Attorneys David Garraux and Michael Pavlick will cover several areas impacted by COVID-19 including the new Department of Labor law. The webinar will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Members can register by clicking here.
This webinar will answer the employment law questions that are arising most frequently as employers navigate the changed landscape created by COVID-19. What must we do under OSHA? What should we do under OSHA? What are my obligations under the FMLA? How does the new Pittsburgh Paid Sick Time law impact our decision-making? What kind of information can we ask of employees under the ADA and PHRA? Does the direct threat exception under the ADA and PHRA apply? Can we send employees home and tell them not to work? If we furlough employees, do we have to pay them? Does the WARN Act apply? If we have a diagnosed case, what can we tell other employees? If employees get sick on the job, is that a worker’s compensation claim or a lawsuit? Do our STD and LTD insurances apply? In addition, there will be a generous time allotted for questions and answers.
