Preparing for Community HealthChoices in Southwestern Pennsylvania, a program offered by the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), will be held at Healthcare Council’s Jack C. Robinette Conference Center on November 16, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Community HealthChoices (CHC) is Pennsylvania’s Medicaid Managed Long-Term Services and Supports program and is a major change in how Pennsylvania pays for nursing home stays, home and community-based services, and other supports for the elderly and the physically disabled over the age of 21.
The first phase of the implementation of CHC will start in southwestern Pennsylvania on January 1, 2018. HAP has invited Theresa Edelstein, MPH, LNHA, vice president of Post-Acute Care Policy and Special Initiatives for the New Jersey Hospital Association to speak at the program. New Jersey implemented a similar program in 2011. This regional workshop is designed to share valuable insight with providers just beginning this transition and to provide real life “lessons learned” from the New Jersey experience. Jolene Calla, Esquire, vice president of Health Care Finance and Insurance for HAP will also facilitate the program.
The program is offered to all members of HCWP at the HAP member rate of $99. For more information and to register contact Marty Kenyon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
